Description
This slanted fruit bowl is part of the handmade Alfonso series by Project 213A. The bowls are inspired by the columnar rocks on the black sand beach of Reynisfjara on Iceland. One of many geological wonders on the island. The rocky sea stacks that rise behind the beach overlooking the black sand took shape naturally as the lava rose, shaping and organically displacing individual layers.
The glaze of the white color is milky translucent in some places and reveals the basic colour of the stoneware. In the other colours the glaze is opaque, with the colours “graphite” and “brick” having a modern matt glaze. The bowls are stable in one place. They cannot be turned, contrary to optical appearances. Each product is responsibly made in selected Portuguese factories and family-run workshops to offer considerate production methods while minimising wasteful practices.
No two pieces look the same. Each bowl has a discreet logo embossing.
