Description

The Italian designer Cristina Celestino created the Louise throw in collaboration with Maison Matisse. The colour palette of the painting Intérieur aux Aubergines (1911) by Henri Matisse was the guideline for the design. Cristina Celestino also took some graphic elements from this work, such as the frame or the stitching. The jacquard weave gives the throw a two-tone, double-sided appearance, creating a play of chromatic contrasts that remain faithful to the shades used by the painter.

The throw is made in Italy by one of the most innovative and high quality Italian design manufactures. The extra-fine merino wool, which comes from New Zealand, offers ideal warmth and lightness. It is also very easy to care for and hypoallergenic. Maison Matisse advises professional washing for visible stains. At the end of the winter, the throw should be hung outdoors for one night to air out. It can then be stored in its original bag in a cupboard until the next season.

The Louise throw can also be worn around the shoulders like a scarf.

Available in four colour combinations.

Maison Matisse was founded by the grandson of the famous painter Henri Matisse with the desire to celebrate and respectfully, meticulously and faithfully pass on his grandfather’s amazingly rich artistic legacy. To take a fresh and original look at Matisse’s work and promote contemporary creations, Maison Matisse has teamed up with the most talented designers of different origins and nationalities, accompanied by craftsmen with unique expertise. The furniture and objects thus produced by Maison Matisse are not only ambassadors of a work of art and a history, but also testimonies to a philosophy of life characterised by emotion, culture and generosity. Whether it is a vase, a plate or a carpet, they all share a particular universal language that is part of a search for beauty and the eternal. For more on Maison Matisse, click here.
