Description

Dutch designer Debbie Wijskamp handmade this paperpulp chest of drawers from old newspapers. Inspired by different cultures that build their houses with materials from their surroundings, the designer wanted to create her own building material. Experimenting with the reuse of waste paper resulted in a material with its own characteristic appearance and a beautiful structure.

The chest of drawers offered here is a display piece that shows a few slight signs of use. We are therefore offering it at a discount. However, the chest of drawers is in very good overall condition.

This chest of drawers is currently no longer in production. You can therefore purchase a last piece here.

Debbie Wijskamp studied product design at the University of the Arts in Arnhem (Netherlands). After graduating in 2009, she immediately opened her own design office. She designs and produces handmade interior products and objects and also collaborates with companies and brands for which she designs. Her vases for Serax are best known. In 2016 she opened her new studio space with a gallery and a shop in the fashion and design district “Het Modekwartier” in Arnhem. She leads courses and workshops in her studio and gives guest lectures at art universities.
